The embassy highlighted that both nations maintain close communication regarding cross-border disaster management. While industry experts suggest that the lack of cooperation may not have been the sole cause of the recent tragedy, they agree that the current informal exchange of information is inadequate. To rectify this, Nepalese hydrologists are advocating for a formal data-sharing agreement with China. They propose using the existing cooperation model between Nepal and India as a blueprint.
