FBI Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Mexico for 2016 Murder

Mexican authorities have apprehended a suspect wanted by the FBI for a 2016 murder in the United States. Alejandro Rosales Castillo, a 27-year-old American national, was taken into custody on Friday, January 16, in Pachuca, a city located approximately 80 kilometers northeast of Mexico City. Castillo is accused of murdering Truc Quan 'Sandy' Ly Le, with whom he previously worked at a restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina.
According to reports, Castillo had a brief romantic relationship with the victim and had borrowed money from her. The 23-year-old victim agreed to meet Castillo at a gas station in Charlotte but subsequently disappeared. Investigators believe that Castillo forced the victim to withdraw her savings from an ATM before driving her to a wooded area, where he allegedly shot her in the head.
The FBI had placed Castillo on its 'Ten Most Wanted' list and offered a reward of $250,000 for information leading to his capture. In a statement, the FBI acknowledged the tireless efforts of law enforcement officials who spent countless hours tracking down leads to locate Castillo's hiding place.
Mexican Secretary of Security Rosa Icela RodrÃguez highlighted that Castillo was subject to an Interpol red notice and faced extradition for charges including first-degree murder, armed robbery, vehicle theft, and kidnapping. Following his arrest, Castillo has been handed over to the prosecutor's office and is set to face legal proceedings.
This case underscores the collaborative efforts between U.S. and Mexican law enforcement agencies in combating cross-border crime and bringing fugitives to justice.
