A devastating fire broke out in a shopping mall located in Gul Plaza, Karachi, resulting in the loss of at least six lives and injuring over twenty people. The incident occurred late on Saturday night, January 17th, and rescue operations are still underway. According to Sindh province spokesperson Jawed, the fire quickly spread across multiple floors of the multi-story shopping center, which houses over 1,200 shops. Rescue officials mentioned that a significant portion of these shops sold items like ceramics, clothing, electronics, cosmetics, and perfumes, which exacerbated the fire's rapid spread.
